Description
- A Board of Directors governs the Single Parent Family Resource Centre.
- He or she is responsible for the smooth running of the organization and must therefore take on various responsibilities.
Availability
- Be available for about ten face-to-face meetings or on the Zoom platform spread over the year.
- Your presence may be required or highly appreciated at certain social events.
Tasks
- Attend meetings to ensure proper monitoring of the organization.
- Attend the annual meeting.
- Possible roles on the Board of Directors: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Director.
Prerequisites
- To have the well-being of single-parent families and the organization at heart.
Description
- Volunteers contribute to the smooth running of the food distribution through the various tasks they are asked to perform.
Availability
- 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Day 1
- 1 to 3:30 p.m.: Day 2
Tasks
Day 1:
- Empty the Moisson Québec truck of its foodstuffs and transport them to the distribution area.
- Sort, clean and place food items.
- All other tasks relevant to the smooth running of the day.
Day 2:
- Welcoming single-parent families and accompanying them on their grocery shopping trip.
- Put away remaining food items and clean the room.
- All other tasks relevant to the smooth running of the day.
Prerequisites
- Have the well-being of single-parent families at heart.
- Be able to stand for several hours at a time.
- Not be a food aid recipient.
Description
- Volunteers contribute to the development of the clothing program through a rigorous sorting of clothing.
Availability
- Your schedule is flexible according to your availability.
- Be available for summer and winter clothing rotation twice a year for several hours during two weeks.
Tasks
- Sort clothing; ensure clothing is clean, functional, current and attractive to children and teens.
- Place clothes on racks or fold them in appropriate places.
Description
- Various social activities require the help of volunteers.
Availability
- It is important to be punctual, as the smooth running of the activities depends in part on the presence of volunteers.
Tasks
- Assist with room set-up (placing chairs, tables or decorations).
- Assist in the smooth running of the event.
- Adhere to the duties assigned by agency personnel.
Examples of activities
- Each year, we help the Accès-Loisirs Québec organization during the registration process in September and January of each year.
- The children’s Christmas party requires a lot of help from volunteers.
